Privacy policy
This page explains what happens to the files you upload to AudioToSRT, what is stored in your browser, and which third parties are involved. Last updated: 11 August 2026.
What you upload
When you upload an audio or video file, it is processed on our server to produce a subtitle file. The recording is not published anywhere, is not shared with other users, and is not used to train any model.
Both the uploaded file and the subtitles made from it are deleted automatically about an hour after the conversion finishes or finally fails. You can also delete a job yourself at any point from the job page, which removes the files immediately.
No account
There is no registration, so we do not ask for your name, email address or payment details, and nothing you convert is tied to an identity. A conversion is linked only to the temporary session described below.
Cookies we set ourselves
A first-party, HTTP-only session cookie lets your browser reach the jobs you created, so that other visitors cannot open your files. Two further first-party cookies simply remember your last choice of transcription language and subtitle block size, so you do not have to set them again.
Clearing cookies or switching browsers starts a new session, and the earlier jobs stop being reachable.
Advertising
This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before advertising and analytics cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people reach the site and which pages they use, so we know what to improve. It records things like the pages visited, the approximate region and the type of device. We do not send the content of your recordings or your subtitles to it.
Logs
Our server keeps ordinary operational records, such as errors, job identifiers and timestamps, which are needed to run the service and to investigate problems. We avoid logging the text of transcripts.
Your choices
You can delete any job yourself, clear the site's cookies in your browser, change your advertising preferences through the links above, or simply stop using the service, after which nothing of yours remains once the automatic deletion has run.
